# Mood Plants The Flower Nurse By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2008-05-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/information-expressing-plants-qianjun-gaos-flower-nurse References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/index.php/2008/05/01/practice-plant/) Designed by QianJun Gao, the Flower Nurse is an [artificial potted plant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folotoy-ai-sunflower) where the flowers "express" their needs by [changing color](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cognitive-bloom). In addition, when they're feeling neglected, the [leaves droop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaffy), just as a real plant's would when it hasn't been watered or has been kept out of the sun. I am all for cutting edge technology and futuristic-looking gadgetry, but artificial plants and flowers? That's where I draw my line. I'm intrigued by this gadget, but I don't quite like the concept behind it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Plant Technology:** Opportunity for companies to develop AI-powered plant technology that can mimic the behavior and needs of real plants. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** Increasing demand for eco-friendly, low-maintenance home decor that enhances well-being and creates a relaxing environment. - **Wellness-inspired Design:** Exploring how design can affect moods and develop products that can positively impact mental and emotional states. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Creating eco-friendly, low-maintenance plants and flowers for interior design and home decor companies. - **Health and Wellness:** Developing products that utilize mood enhancing plants and flowers for wellness companies. - **AI and Robotics:** Incorporating AI technology into potted plants and flowers for companies focused on smart home technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Virtual Pet Planter Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-pot-concept.md) - [AI-Powered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leafypod.md) - [Digital Interaction Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planta-planter.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [AI-Driven Plant Sensors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora-pod.md) - [Plant-Cultivating Home Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4.md) - [Indoor Greenery Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-plant-sensor.md) - [Dementia Support Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-smart-planter.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md)
