# Modular Inflatable Seating These Blow-Up Chairs and Couches Transform Into Water Loungers By Cadhla Gray | Published 2015-09-28 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-seating References: [notcot](http://www.notcot.com/archives/2015/09/pigro-felice-inflatable-seals.php) & [pigrofelice](http://www.pigrofelice.com/modul-air.html) This inflatable seating provides couches, chairs and loungers for the pool or lake at the cottage. The [modular seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-seating) means that with each added piece, larger, more luxurious seating can be created. For instance, a blow-up armchair turns into a [floating day bed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sup-paddle-lounge) and a sofa turns into a lounger for two. The great thing about this inflatable seating is that it can be used both on dry land and in water. The [air-filled furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knit-one-chair) was designed by 'Pigro Felice,' which translated to English means "lazy happy" -- a good description for the squishy lounge chairs. The largest piece that can be bought as one or slowly put together is a water platform that seats at least 11 comfortably. Meanwhile, a water hammock provides a nice in-between for those who want to be partially in and out of the water during a hot summer day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Inflatable Furniture:** The combination of inflatables and modular furniture creates an opportunity for disrupting traditional furniture designs and creating portable, customizable, and versatile furniture pieces. - **Water-friendly Furniture:** Designing furniture that is suitable for both dry land and water environments creates an opportunity for disrupting traditional outdoor and water recreation furniture and opening up new markets for leisure seekers. - **Multipurpose Seating:** The concept of inflatables that can easily transform from seats to loungers, day beds, and hammocks opens up an opportunity for creating versatile furniture that solves different seating needs in a single product. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Furniture:** The traditional outdoor furniture industry can gain inspiration from the inflatable seating and explore a new range of product designs that provide more versatile, durable and water-friendly products that meet different customer demands. - **Water Recreation Equipment:** The water recreation equipment industry can utilize the modular inflatable seating and design new products that offer convenience, portability, and customization for water activities like swimming, diving, and sunbathing. - **On-demand Rental Services:** The accessibility and portability of modular inflatable seating creates an opportunity for on-demand rental services to meet customers' needs for versatile and comfortable seating arrangements that are suitable for different locations and events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Inflatable Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conqueror-inflatable.md) - [Inflatable Campsite Couch Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bote-aero-couch.md) - [Ergonomic Inflatable Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-lounger.md) - [Automatic Self-Inflating Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfinflating-furniture.md) - [Inflatable Adirondack-Style Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bote-aerorondak-chair.md) - [Automated Inflation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerogogo-ps1.md) - [Ergonomic Inflated Reclined Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johannes-faurebrac.md) - [Rippled Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puffa-furniture.md) - [Modular Bulbous Lounge Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sundae-modular-lounge.md)
