# Boundless Ivory Homes The Infinity House Appears to Go on Forever By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-08-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinity-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/08/22/infinity-house-by-aabe/) & [erpicum.org](http://www.erpicum.org/) AABE designed the 'Infinity house,' an immense [alabaster residence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-gesso) located in Baleares, Spain. With its unique position, the [Infinity House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yohoo-museum) appears to enclose the horizon in its a warm, loving embrace. The architects managed to create a home that creates an emotional resonance by "opening or splitting, reflecting infinity." Though infinity is a concept that, as mortal and finite beings, we can't entirely grasp, the architects incorporated the (infinite) elements of space, time and beauty into this magnificent architectural form. The [white walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nyori) act as blank canvas, on which the surrounding nature has imprinted itself upon. The home therefore acts as a form of expression which communicates the endless cycle of rebirth in nature, offering a sense of the "infinite." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Alabaster Residences:** Exploring the use of alabaster in residential architecture, creating visually stunning and emotionally resonant homes. - **Emotional Architecture:** Designing buildings that evoke strong emotional responses and create a sense of connection with the environment. - **Nature-inspired Expression:** Using architecture as a medium to communicate the beauty and cycles of nature, blurring the boundaries between built environment and natural surroundings. ### Who This Affects Most - **Residential Architecture:** Incorporating alabaster and integrating emotional design elements for unique and captivating homes. - **Construction Materials:** Exploring the use of alabaster as a building material and developing new techniques to enhance its visual appeal and durability. - **Environmental Design:** Creating architecture that harmonizes with nature and communicates its beauty, fostering a deeper connection with the environment. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Figure 8-Structured House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-loop-house.md) - [Dynamic Marble Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinito.md) - [Philosophically Designed Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boundless-residence.md) - [Environmentally Blending Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ineffable-light.md) - [Glass-Reflective Illuminated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-house.md) - [Floating Level Aesthetic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1.md) - [Mountaintop Cantilevered Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitae-house.md) - [Math Equation-Inspired Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-countless-windows.md) - [Boxy Shaped Beach Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roman-izquierdo-bouldstridge.md)
