# Infesting Insect Floaties This Cockroach Pool Inflatable Brings the Bug to a Large-Scale Size By M | Published 2016-08-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infesting-insect References: [boredpanda](http://www.boredpanda.com/gigantic-cockroach-raft-inflatable-pool-float-kangaroo/) & [amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKUAKDY?tag=trenhunt0f-20) This [pool inflatable design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-inflatables) moves away from treats and cute animals for design inspiration, and instead chooses to highlight the infesting insect most well-known for being a pest. The floaty blows up to be a large scale cockroach with six pointy legs and an elongated set of antennas. The pool accessory is known as the Gigantic Cockroach Raft and it provides a [moveable lounger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-lounger) designed to be used in pools and large bodies of water. The raft is made of [soft plastic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gemmy-industries) with a texturized shape of a cockroach complete with ribbed shell and realistic prints on both the front and the back. When in use, it looks as though the floater is hanging out on stomach of a gargantuan insect. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Unconventional Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore unique and unexpected design inspirations for products. - **Novelty Pool Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create fun and quirky pool inflatables that stand out from traditional designs. - **Playful Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop unconventional recreational products that add an element of surprise and amusement. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate unconventional and playful elements into outdoor recreational equipment and accessories. - **Pool and Water Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design unique and unexpected pool and water accessories that enhance the swimming experience. - **Novelty and Gag Gifts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create distinctive and amusing novelty products that cater to consumers seeking unconventional gifts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pasta-Inspired Inflatable Pool Noodles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pastainspired-inflatable-pool-noodle.md) - [Colorful Poolside Art Inflatables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cdm30.md) - [Floating Cabana Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-cabana-bar.md) - [Film-Celebrating Pool Floaties](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funboy-x-barbie-the-movie-collection.md) - [Transparent Floating Pool Loungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funboy-super-clear-chaise-lounger.md) - [Tortilla Chip-Shaped Pool Floats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortilla-chipshaped-pool-float.md) - [Customizable Tanning Pools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-tanning-pool.md) - [Cheeky Summer Product Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/great-float.md) - [Colorful Tile Pool Loungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cdm30-inflatable-pool-lounger.md)
