The ‘Quercus’ water barrel project was made my Weyers & Borms and features a cast of a [150 year-old oak trunk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/age-of-wood).

The unique water barrel is made from a [polyester and fibreglass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rosana-sousa) and looks like a real-life tree stump.

The project was aimed around releasing collected water via a small tap that was built into the trunk.

**Implications** - Today's eco-conscious consumer is constantly seeking ways to become closer to nature on a daily basis, resulting in pieces like the Quercus. With a rising sense of mass eco consciousness, the design industry is seeing many more interior and fashion pieces that incorporate a sense of naturalism. Companies can capitalize on this movement by incorporating a [woodland aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imprint-collection) or the use of recycled materials into product manufacturing.
