While it is not uncommon for homes to have [trees and other plants indoors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive), this hanging planter serves as a beautiful connection between the natural and made-made environment. The tree is installed in a stunning two-storey home in Los Angeles, California. The home was designed with a number of windows and skylights that help to blur the lines between inside and outside. Highlighted by the abundance of natural light, the owners installed a sleek indoor planter in the main entrance hall, which hangs from the ceiling of the second-storey. The vertical hanging planter helps to connect the social spaces downstairs with the second level of the home. The innovative design of this hanging tree not only acts as a visual filter for the home's natural light, but also as a constant reminder to live a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Indoor Hanging Planters:** Opportunity for creating innovative planters that hang from the ceiling to bring nature indoors. - **Blurring Indoor-outdoor Boundaries:** Opportunity to design homes with windows and skylights that create a seamless connection between inside and outside. - **Sustainable Living Reminder:** Opportunity to incorporate eco-friendly elements, such as hanging trees, that serve as constant reminders to live sustainably. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the home decor industry to develop unique and visually appealing indoor hanging planters. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Opportunity for architects and interior designers to explore innovative ways to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Environmental Sustainability:** Promoting sustainable lifestyles through innovative designs and eco-friendly elements like hanging trees. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artsy Hanging Plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-air-plant-mobile.md) - [Trellis-Equipped Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blume-planter.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Illusory Planter Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rooted-planter.md) - [Aeroponic Desktop Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/izestee.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md) - [Posh Plant-Supporting Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ample-plant-light-n1.md) - [Furniture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-garden-system.md)
