# Playhouse-Inspired Kitchen Storage This Adorable Mini-Shed Houses All Your Kitchen Utensils By Cowbag | Published 2009-02-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-mini-sheds-cute-indoor-storage-solutions References: [thetrendygirl.net](http://www.thetrendygirl.net/2009/02/shedshelf.html) & [studiogorm](http://www.studiogorm.com/shed_shelf.html) The design of this is brilliant, like a useful [indoor playhouse for adults](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-shack-1), or in fact, a shed. It is from design studio Gorm, who designed this [small shed for household storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schtauss), such as the kitchen utensils shown above. It is unquestionably cute, but I can't see it helping storage by simply taking up shed-loads of room. However, it is super-stylish, so maybe that is not too bad a thing. **Implications** - While the priority of consumers that buy [furniture and storage units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks) may have once been exclusively practicality and function, there has been a recent shift in consumer priorities towards style and presentation. The most popular products strike a balance between the two forces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Merge of Style and Function:** Opportunity to create furniture and storage units that prioritize both style and practicality. - **Indoor Playhouse for Adults:** Opportunity to design playful and creative storage solutions for grown-ups. - **Compact and Stylish Storage:** Opportunity to develop small, aesthetic storage solutions for various areas of the house. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture and Storage:** Opportunity to innovate in the furniture and storage industry to meet the changing consumer priorities. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate playful and functional design elements into interior design projects. - **Home Organization:** Opportunity to provide compact and stylish storage solutions for individuals looking to declutter and organize their homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Workspace Backyard Sheds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workshed.md) - [Educational Storage Shed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-roof.md) - [Removable Plate Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gere-multifunctional-crockery-shelf.md) - [Adorable Luxurious Storage Compartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-storage-compartment.md) - [Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet.md) - [Apartment-Inspired Drawer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apt-drawers.md) - [Kid-Friendly Kitchen Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-eggi.md) - [Space-Conscious Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-kitchen-design.md) - [Storage-Centric Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clutterfree-living.md)
