Made up of [tiled tables and colorful vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reglow), the designs are incredibly unique in that they could easily come off as more artistic than functional. Interestingly, India Mahdavi was inspired by research about the [Ottoman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arne-jacobsen) style of making quartz tile. The result was a series of tables that boast a fish scale pattern. India Mahdavi created a sort of abstract mural that rested on a brass base. As for the vases, India Mahdavi created a system that is meant to be used together, but can also stand along. As colorful as the tables, they take on a variety of geometric forms. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Artistic Furniture Design:** Opportunity for disrupting traditional furniture design with more artistic and visually appealing pieces. - **Tiled Home Decor:** Opportunity to explore new ways of incorporating tiled patterns and designs into home decor and accessories. - **Hybrid Art-furniture Pieces:** Opportunity to create hybrid art-furniture pieces that combine functionality with artistic expression. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Designers can incorporate more unique and visually appealing styles into traditional furniture design. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can explore new ways of incorporating tiled patterns and designs into their products. - **Art Collectibles:** Art collectors can invest in hybrid art-furniture pieces that have the potential to appreciate in value over time. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sunset-Inspired Printed Glass Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iris-collection.md) - [Playful Structural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palma-collection.md) - [Dynamic Colorful Glass Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-set.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md) - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md) - [Nature-Inspired Curvaceous Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roula-salamoun.md) - [Colorful Ceramic Sleeks Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rivington-table.md) - [Indian Tradition-Honoring Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bidri-collection.md) - [Modern-Tinged Traditional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jaipur.md)
