# Modern Incense Kits The Blakebrough + King Incense Kit is Simple and Elegant By Meghan Young | Published 2014-10-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incense-kit References: [coolhunting](http://www.coolhunting.com/design/blakebrough-king-incense-holder.php) & [cargocollective](http://cargocollective.com/blakebroughkingwebshop/incense-kit) Burning incense is an ancient tradition that still looks as though it belongs in a past era; not so with this modern incense kit. Although simple and elegant as many other incense kits, it boasts a more unobtrusive design that would suit contemporary homes and studios much better. Clean and refined, the holders are finished with a stripe of copper that adds a nice detail to the overall look. Designed by Blakebrough + King, the workshop of Australian design duo Ben Blakebrough and Sarah K, the incense kit comes complete with [Japanese cedar incense](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incvee) in addition to the holders. This incense kit would make a great gift for Secret Santa gift exchanges and other similar holiday rituals. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modern Incense Kits:** People are seeking modern updates to traditional rituals like burning incense, providing an opportunity for innovation in incense design and packaging. - **Minimalist Home Decor:** Sleek and unobtrusive design is becoming more popular in contemporary homes and studios, creating an opportunity for innovation in minimalist home decor products. - **Experience-based Gifting:** As people look for unique and thoughtful gifts, experience-based gifting such as this incense kit offers an opportunity to create new and innovative gift options. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The modern design of the Blakebrough + King Incense Kit provides a disruptive opportunity for innovation in home decor products that cater to a minimalist aesthetic. - **Wellness and Spa:** The use of incense in meditation and relaxation practices provides an opportunity for disruption in the wellness industry by offering updated and modern incense products and experiences. - **Gift and Retail:** The trend towards experience-based gifting creates an opportunity to develop thoughtful and unique gift options, resulting in innovation in the gift and retail industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful DIY Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incense-holder-kit.md) - [Sleek Metallic Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-incense-holder.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sumaksae-incense-holder.md) - [Timeless Artful Incenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genjik.md) - [Posh Portable Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rin-incense-holder.md) - [Smart Incense Burners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/recov.md) - [Minimalist Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-incense-holder.md) - [Cigarette-Style Incense Sticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incense-stick.md) - [Modern Meditative Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cage-incense-holder.md)
