# Digitally Sublime Exhibits The 'In The Cloud' Art Show Explores Ancient and Modern Concepts By Meghan Young | Published 2015-06-30 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/in-the-cloud References: [coolhunting](http://www.coolhunting.com/culture/in-the-cloud-exhibition-nyc) The concept of a cloud has taken on new meaning in modern society; a meaning that is explored in the In The Cloud group art exhibit. Taking place at the Ethan Cohen Fine Arts in New York City, it converges the idea of clouds as magical forms in the sky with the digital cloud people use to to store the most important (and not so important) data on their personal tech. Featuring the work of 22 artists, the In The Cloud exhibit was curated by Alexandra Loulias. Cool Hunting writes, "Paintings, sculptures, plants and manipulated canvases mingle amidst the glow of monitors, neon texts, and a cloud machine — forming a nebula of super-charged works." The results are thoroughly thought-provoking. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cloud Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore the intersection of clouds as magical forms and digital storage. - **Digital Exhibition:** Shift towards showcasing artworks that incorporate technology and digital elements. - **Immersive Installations:** Increasing demand for exhibitions that create immersive and interactive experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Galleries:** Incorporating more tech-driven exhibits and installations to attract diverse audiences. - **Technology:** Opportunity to develop cloud-based art platforms and tools for artists to create and exhibit digital art. - **Event Planning and Design:** Growing need for experiential event design services that can create immersive art installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tech-Forward Contemporary Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hofa-gallery.md) - [AI-Inspired Digital Art Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evolving-perspectives.md) - [Colossal AI Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-artwork.md) - [AI-Curated Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-art-of-trending.md) - [Weather-Inspired Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weatherinspired-art-exhibition.md) - [Technology Connection Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/codecraftchaos.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Virtual DEI Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drda-art.md)
