As exquisite as modern, chic counters look, Max and Max's In-Case-of-Riot Table is the one that people should have in their homes. This furniture piece has a [riot shield](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4rq002003) and it's removable. There are two large handles on the bottom to hold on to and of course, a protective armor large enough to hold off against anything angry coming through the door. When busting heads and pushing past a crowd isn't necessary, the top rests on top of a frame serving as a [regular tabletop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table). Some might say the In-Case-of-Riot Table may not be necessary, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Here's hoping that removing the counter will never happen. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **In-case-of-riot Tables:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing customizable In-Case-of-Riot tables that integrate seamlessly into home decor while providing security measures for unexpected situations. - **Multifunctional Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating furniture pieces that can serve multiple purposes, such as a regular tabletop that can easily transform into a riot shield when needed. - **Personal Safety Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing innovative products that prioritize personal safety, such as furniture with built-in protective armor and handles for self-defense. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating security features into furniture design to cater to individuals' safety concerns in an unpredictable world. - **Home Security:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing new solutions in home security that go beyond traditional alarms and surveillance systems, including furniture that can be utilized as protective barriers. - **Self-defense Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Expanding the market for self-defense products by incorporating them into everyday objects, such as furniture, to enhance personal safety in various scenarios. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Protective Earthquake Response Shields](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/testudo-shield-and-helmet.md) - [Unconventional Awkwardly Seated Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uncomfortable-table.md) - [Transforming Stool-Integrated Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quartet-side-table.md) - [Technology Disconnection Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unhook-table.md) - [Intersecting Two-Part Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaolin-side-table.md) - [Whimsical Utility Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roach-clip-side-table.md) - [Collaborative Meal-Making Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/12-person-table.md) - [Industrial Shapeshifting Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jointable.md) - [Industrial Strength Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intra-side-table.md)
