Taking inspiration from the seats that can be found in a [4D theater experience](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awol-theater-3500x), Immersit helps movie-watchers at home become involved in a complete sensory experience. The company's technology takes the form of a [bespoke sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/come-together-1) that has the ability to react to the contents of a particular video game or movie. With pneumatic feet powered by air pumps, [individual seats are able to move](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tgif-t0) up to four inches in forwards, backwards, rolling, shaking and vibrating motions. The commands for this unit are taken from a laptop or tablet, through a Wi-Fi connection. What makes this system the most genius of all for the movie industry is that it requires the purchase of a compatible DVD or Blu-ray disk in order to be properly synced. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Multimedia](https://www.trendhunter.com/multimedia) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Smart Home Entertainment:** Immersit's technology is revolutionizing the home entertainment experience by creating a complete sensory experience with interactive sofas. - **4D Theater-inspired Furniture:** Immersit is tapping into the trend of creating immersive experiences at home by offering bespoke sofas that move in sync with the content being watched. - **Personalized Movie Experience:** Immersit's technology allows individuals to customize their movie-watching experience at home by adjusting the movements of the sofa to match the action on the screen. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** Immersit's motion sofas have the potential to disrupt the furniture industry by offering consumers a unique and immersive home entertainment experience. - **Movie Production:** Immersit's synchronized sofa technology presents an opportunity for movie producers to create content tailored specifically for this interactive experience. - **Home Entertainment Systems:** The integration of Immersit's technology into home entertainment systems could disrupt the industry by providing a new level of immersion and engagement for viewers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Olfactory Entertainment Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moviescent.md) - [Collaborative Gaming Chair Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-1.md) - [Comfortable Theater Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfortable-theater-seat.md) - [Landscape Seating Theater Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cinema-visiona.md) - [Locomotion VR Controller Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vr-motion-simulator.md) - [Relaxing Media Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-display-media-chair.md) - [Virtual Reality Gameplay Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/explorer.md) - [Tech-Infused Living Room Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allure-sofa-range.md) - [Haptic Feedback Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooler-master-synk-x.md)
