With its powder-coated metal finish and its flaring form, it is clean, contemporary, fairly minimal, and you probably would not expect it to have a hidden second function. Step a bit closer, however, and you'll notice a set of fins that circle the inside of the lampshade. These are part of a [built-in turbine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shark-turboblade) that allows the fixture to function as a [ceiling fan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-cooling). The beauty of this Quirky-made ventilator is that it can be effortlessly installed like a suspended light and operated with a remote or a light switch. Hassle-free in setup, maintenance and operation, the Illuminair is a fresh and efficient addition to any interior space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hybrid Lighting:** The combination of lighting and additional functionality offers disruptive innovation opportunities in various industries. - **Multi-functional Design:** The integration of multiple features into a single product opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation across different sectors. - **Efficiency Enhancement:** The incorporation of energy-efficient and user-friendly features creates opportunities for disruptive innovation within relevant industries. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The hybrid ventilating lamp presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating unique and functional lighting fixtures for interior spaces. - **Smart Home Automation:** The inclusion of remote control operation and seamless integration with smart home systems offers disruptive innovation possibilities in the smart home industry. - **Energy Efficiency:** The hybrid lamp's focus on energy efficiency and ease of operation presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the energy sector. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lamp-Equipped Fan Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abode-gale-fan.md) - [Florally-Inspired Ceiling Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-ceiling-fan.md) - [Connected Open-Concept Ceiling Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atomi-smart-ceiling-fan.md) - [Rectangular Bladeless Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rectangular-bladeless-fans.md) - [Smart Ceiling Fan Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fanpro.md) - [Two-in-One Rechargeable Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appliance-concept.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md) - [Light-Integrated Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airglow.md) - [Jet Engine-Inspired Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tello-zet.md)
