The Swedish furniture company partnered with the tech company Qi to integrate the latter's wireless chargers into a collection made up of small lamps, end tables and desks. The result is a set of minimalist furnishings that can also charge your tablet or phone. The IKEA wireless charging furniture will be able to juice up any device that supports Qi's wireless chargers, a list that includes [Nokia](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3gpp-immersive), [Google](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-smart-home) Nexus, HTC and some [Samsung](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/come-together-robot) products. For those devices that aren't supported, IKEA plans to release covers to solve the problem. Ikea's wireless chargers will first hit the company's UK retail and online stores but will likely see wide release soon after should everything run smoothly. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Wireless Charging Furniture:** The integration of wireless chargers into furniture creates disruptive innovation opportunities for the home décor industry and presents an opportunity for tech and furniture companies to join forces in future product development. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** The trend towards multi-functional furniture has been accelerated through the integration of wireless chargers and presents an opportunity for innovative furniture design concepts across several industries. - **Affordable Smart Furniture:** The development of affordable smart furniture provides a unique opportunity for tech and furniture companies to partner in bringing these products to consumers without breaking the bank. ### Where This Applies - **Home Décor:** Wireless Charging Furniture presents an industry that can tap into its existing product lines and rethink what furniture can do through integrating wireless charging capabilities. - **Tech:** Developing wireless charging furniture represents a new market for tech companies and presents an opportunity to expand their product lines into smart furniture that is both functional and stylish. - **Furniture:** The integration of wireless charging capabilities into furniture represents an opportunity for furniture companies to differentiate their products and become early adopters of smart furniture technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Donut Phone Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vstmrke.md) - [Integrated Charging Hub Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magpower-tables.md) - [Furniture-Embedded Discreet Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/discreet-charging-station.md) - [Tech-Packed Bedroom Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bedside-table.md) - [Desk-Compatible Wireless Charger Pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-charger.md) - [Intelligent Wireless Charging Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carousel-series.md) - [Tech-Rich Bedside Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiinteriors-histand.md) - [Miniature Wireless Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neatcharge.md) - [Tech-Charging Book Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haaase-liesma-bookshelf.md)
