Featuring carvings of mythical battles between tigers and dragons, it is a sculpture masterpiece like no other. Created by Taiwanese designer Pili Wu in collaboration with craft artist Jian-An Su, the 'IKEA plus Tertial' desk light could probably inspire other artistic endeavors. The [3D carvings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt) are, obviously, considerably dramatic when back-lit by the lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Artistic Desk Lamps:** Opportunity for designers and artists to create unique and visually stunning desk lamps by incorporating intricate carvings and sculptures. - **Collaborative Design:** Potential for designers and craft artists to collaborate and create innovative desk lamps that combine their respective skills and expertise. - **Backlit Carvings:** Demand for desk lamps that feature backlit 3D carvings, adding a dramatic and mesmerizing element to the workspace. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for home decor companies to introduce artistic desk lamps that serve as unique statement pieces. - **Furniture Design:** Potential for furniture designers to incorporate desk lamps as sculptural elements, merging functionality with artistic expression. - **Craft and Artistry:** Opportunity for craft artists and artisans to explore the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary desk lamp designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Gothic Wooden Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gothic-table-lamp.md) - [Spiritually Inspired Artisanal Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triris.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Traditional Tower-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pagoda-lamp.md) - [Sculpted Wooden Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-wood-desk-lamp.md) - [Kinetic Insect Sculpture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragonfly-balance-light.md) - [Zen Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bonsai-desk-lamp.md) - [Minimalist Workstation Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-lamp-concept.md)
