Artists Mayumi Otero and Raphael Urwiller formed the publishing studio Icinori where they continue to create an array of fantastic graphic artwork. An ongoing series of theirs is 'Lettrines,' a collection of drawings that uses [letters from the alphabet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/letter-pair) as the base for [vibrant and diverse illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/what-are-you-looking-at).

The style of each letter is entirely distinguished to the point where it appears that each letter was done by a separate artist. With some letters being used repeatedly, it's clear that Otero and Urwiller don't need much in order to be inspired to create a wide range of [graphically compelling artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorama).

In some instances the letters appear to be monuments within a bizarre reality, creating the sense that the individual characters are part of some vast and intricate story.
