Through the IBM and Bon Appétit [Chef Watson app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hisense-dish-designer), the public can now explore some of the [creative 'Cognitive Cooking' recipes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sage-cooking) that the bot suggests. To make use of the online platform, a user begins by selecting just one ingredient. From there, Chef Watson begins compiling pairing suggestions. Working in collaboration with the smart supercomputer, users are able to add or subtract ingredients from Bon Appétit recipes to create a pleasing dish. IBM Watson is meant to enhance creativity in cooking rather than replacing a traditional chef, serving as a handy cooking aid and tool for food discovery. As well as being able to sift through countless recipes online from the Cognitive Cooking robot's web app, Chef Watson now also has a cookbook. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cognitive Cooking:** The trend of using AI to assist in the food discovery process for home cooks and chefs alike offers disruptive innovation opportunities in recipe creation and meal personalization. - **Digital Recipe Platforms:** The trend of moving recipe sharing and discovery online offers opportunities to revolutionize cookbook publishing and food blogging, including the use of data-driven insights to personalize user experiences. - **Smart Kitchen Gadgets:** The trend of incorporating AI and connected devices into kitchen appliances provides opportunities for innovation in home cooking, from personalized recipe recommendations to automated food preparation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Food and Beverage:** The food and beverage industry has the opportunity to leverage AI and digital platforms to create personalized experiences for consumers and streamline recipe creation and distribution processes. - **Technology:** The technology industry has the opportunity to provide tools and solutions that make cooking more accessible, efficient, and creative with the integration of AI and smart kitchen gadgets. - **Publishing:** The publishing industry can leverage digital recipe platforms to expand their reach, create new revenue streams, and personalize content for readers through data-driven insights. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI Recipe Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chefwand.md) - [AI-Powered Culinary Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/be-my-chef.md) - [AI-Powered Recipe Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-cosmo.md) - [Instant Recipe Generation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-chef.md) - [AI-Powered Sous Chefs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botatouille.md) - [AI-Powered Recipe Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crooked-recipes.md) - [Personalized Recipe Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safeplates.md) - [AI Recipe Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cookfast.md) - [AI Cooking Agents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-cooking-agent.md)
