# Tron Concept Kitchens The i Food Kitchen Features a Touch-Screen Fridge and Stove By Michael Hines | Published 2011-09-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/i-food-kitchen References: [designbuzz](http://www.designbuzz.com/entry/food-kitchen-remote-controlled-cooking-system/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Kidan) Don't let the name fool you, the i Food Kitchen is in no way, shape or form a fancy-schmancy iDevice dock. At least, not yet. The i Food Kitchen is a conceptual kitchen designed by Chiara Danielle for the not-so-distant future. The i Food Kitchen is a single unit containing every appliance you could possibly need. The kitchen is designed to be eco-friendly, with all of the appliances connected to the same grid to prevent power waste. The kitchen is also designed to be tech-savvy: The [refrigerator has a touch screen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-assistant) installed on it, while the stove can digitally display updates about the dish being prepared on it such as the weight of the ingredients added. The i Food Kitchen may be a little too futuristic for today's homes, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an [all-in-one touchable kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/integrated-kitchen-appliance) become the norm. Unfortunately, we still seem to be a ways away from [robotic dishwashers and chefs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circusos). Someday soon. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Kitchens:** Designing all appliances to connect to the same grid to prevent power waste presents opportunities for companies to innovate in energy-efficient home appliances. - **Smart Kitchens:** Incorporating touch screens and digital displays into kitchen appliances creates opportunities for companies to develop user-friendly, digitally enhanced kitchen equipment. - **All-in-one Kitchens:** Creating an all-in-one kitchen with every appliance contained in a single unit presents opportunities for companies to innovate in space-saving and convenience-focused home appliances. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Appliance Manufacturing:** The trend towards all-in-one, eco-friendly and smart kitchens presents opportunities for appliance manufacturers to innovate on the convenience, energy-efficiency and user experience of kitchen appliances. - **Energy-efficiency Industry:** The trend towards eco-friendly kitchens presents opportunities for companies to develop better energy-efficient solutions for homes, with more products designed to connect to a single grid, offering better energy management. - **Smart Home Industry:** The trend towards smart kitchens presents opportunities for companies in the smart home market to innovate and integrate digitally enhanced home appliances into their ecosystems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ai-Powered Recipe-Generating Appliance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kitchen-cosmo.md) - [Futuristic Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-on2cook.md) - [Technological Kitchen Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-coit.md) - [AI-Enabled Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermomix-tm7.md) - [Modular Multifunctional Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pronto-and-alto.md) - [Contemporary Smart Cooker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ods.md) - [All-in-One Meal Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chefrobot.md) - [AI-Powered Cooking Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-idea-kody-29.md) - [Projected Kitchen Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-holodisplay.md)
