Local design studio KLG Architects designed the Hytte Riverview which is a house that overlooks a South African estuary. The Hytte Riverview is defined by its [textured plaster walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gulzars-residence) which are done on purpose to reflect the [rocky outcrops nearby](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-atrium-house). The thick walls form a beautiful texture and it is all nestled in the Rooi Els in the Western Cape.

The director of the project Jan Douglas shares the design process with [Dezeen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rk-residence), noting "The design's dual nature – open and outward-facing on one side, solid and sheltered on the other – ensures that the home provides comfort, serenity, and a deep connection to the distinctive environment. It offers a sanctuary where residents can feel both protected and connected to the landscape."
