# Vacuum Transport Tubes Tesla's 760 MPH Hyperloop Transportation System is Starting Construction By Cadhla Gray | Published 2015-10-26 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperloop-transportation References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2015/10/22/hyperloop-elon-musk-high-speed-transport-network-california-usa/) & [hyperlooptech](http://hyperlooptech.com/) Elon Musk is known for his seemingly absurd ideas, however, like the Hyperloop Transportation system, they consistently prove to shockingly come to existence. The Hyperloop Transportation tubes proposed by the [Tesla](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-air-grand-touring-performance) founder are a series of [tubular tunnels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-tubes) that could potentially take people to their destinations at a ludicrous 760 miles per hour. The tubes will use [vacuums and magnets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mag-drive) to shoot people sitting on single-file seats through the narrow tunnels. The tests will take 10 million people on this transport system at speeds of 160 MPH. The test tracks are beginning to be constructed in California next month and if successful, could entirely change the way humans travel. Making road, train and air travel a thing of the past, this vacuum system could provide a cheaper, faster and more environmentally friendly alternative. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Transportation](https://www.trendhunter.com/transportation) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hyperloop Transportation System:** The Hyperloop Transportation system proposed by Elon Musk could revolutionize transportation with its potential to reach speeds of 760 miles per hour, disrupting traditional road, train, and air travel. - **Vacuum Transport Tubes:** The use of vacuum and magnetic tubes in transportation could provide a cheaper, faster, and more environmentally friendly alternative, disrupting the transportation industry. - **Disruptive Innovation in Transportation:** The construction of the Hyperloop Transportation tubes and the potential success of this vacuum transport system can spark disruptive innovation in the entire transportation industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Transportation:** The Hyperloop Transportation system and vacuum transport tubes have the potential to disrupt the traditional transportation industry, revolutionizing how people travel. - **Construction:** The construction of the Hyperloop Transportation test tracks presents opportunities for companies in the construction industry to participate in building futuristic transportation infrastructure. - **Green Technology:** The vacuum transport tubes and Hyperloop Transportation system offer opportunities for the development and implementation of green technology, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hydrogen-Powered Hypersonic Airplanes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-magnetar.md) - [High-Speed Californian Electric Trains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brightline-rail.md) - [Public Hovercraft Transport Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rapid-transit-hovercraft.md) - [Hypersonic Launch Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/launch-vehicle.md) - [Magnetic Wall-Scaling Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trois-mobility-concept.md) - [Ultra-Fast One-Person Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airspeeder-mk4.md) - [Accessible Space Travel Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-elevator-concept.md) - [Breakneck Speed Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-air-grand-touring-performance.md) - [Electric Transportation Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-transportation-concept.md)
