Hyperion announced its 'Hyper:Fuel' [portable hydrogen fuel cell stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tacoma-h2overlander-concept). These fuel cell stations are movable and do not require a connection to the grid, meaning Hyperion can adjust the location of its Hyper:Fuel charging bays to dynamically meet customer demands in each market.

Each Hyper:Fuel charging bay serves as a hydrogen fuel cell charger and an [electric vehicle charger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-power-1kw-super-fast-car-charger). The station uses [water electrolysis combined with solar energy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aircela) to produce hydrogen which is used to replenish fuel cells. Additionally, excess energy not actively used for electrolysis is stored in backup power sources, allowing for charging of vehicles even during a grid failure.

According to Hyperion, the Hyper:Fuel charging stations solidify the Hyperion XP-1 as a "truly green" supercar that uses reusable energy throughout its entire life cycle.
