# Extreme Sports Shields Hydro Tec-Hydration Protection for Snowboarders By Urban Delice | Published 2009-07-21 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydro-tec-hydration-protection References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/07/21/no-worries-you-can-fall/) I’m a snowboarding fan and God knows how much pain I’ve endured from falling on icy slopes in the past years. I couldn’t walk and move my feet because of the back injuries. That’s why I am more than thrilled to see the launch of Hydro Tec-Hydration Protection, an innovative protection system for extreme sports fanatics like me. This protective shield has an impact chamber filled with water and air that acts like a cushion for your body. I’ve tried all types of innovative protection shields from major brands and they all hurt on impact as they are simply pieces of plastic wrapped in soft material. But in the case of the Hydro Tec-Hydration Protection, on impact, the air is pushed up into the back channel and into the dissipation chamber situated around the jacket’s neck piece, inflating it. That’s how the back and the neck are protected from the shock. This Hydro Tec-Hydration Protection can only bring me joy, as I’m sure it will to other snow sports fans that know what falling means to your bones. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hydration Protection Systems:** Innovative protection systems that incorporate water and air to cushion impact and protect the body in extreme sports. - **Disruptive Impact Shields:** Impact shields that utilize advanced technology to provide superior protection and minimize injury in extreme sports. - **Inflatable Shock Absorbers:** Inflatable shock absorbers integrated into protective gear for extreme sports that offer enhanced cushioning and impact resistance. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Sports Equipment Manufacturing:** The sports equipment manufacturing industry can explore the development and production of new and improved hydration protection systems for various extreme sports. - **Outdoor Adventure Tourism:** The outdoor adventure tourism industry can incorporate disruptive impact shields into their offerings to provide safer and more enjoyable experiences for customers. - **Healthcare and Wellness:** The healthcare and wellness industry can embrace the use of inflatable shock absorbers to aid in injury prevention and rehabilitation for athletes and active individuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Brain-Protecting Wearable Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brainprotecting-wearable-device.md) - [Winter Sport Survivalist Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/db-snow-pro-vest.md) - [Aftermarket Air-Spring Skier Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shredshox.md) - [Protective Cut-Proof Jackets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armortex-jacket.md) - [Lightweight Surfing Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wtr-icon.md) - [Slope-Ready Winter Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beanie-helmet.md) - [Waterproof Audio Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterproof-audio-technology.md) - [Interchangeable Component Sport Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-helmet.md) - [Breakaway Panel Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canyon-deflectr-rls-helmet.md)
