# Hybrid Animals Photography These Animal Mixes are Both Horrifying and Hilarious By Farida Helmy | Published 2014-07-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-animals References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/367387/Fantasy-Animal-Hybrids-Imagined-With-Funny-And-Adorable-Results/?interstital_shown=1) & [quebectango.tumblr](http://quebectango.tumblr.com) If you love animals and have a wild imagination, make sure to check out this funny yet terrifying series of hybrid animals photography instead of wasting your time wondering what a hybrid of two completely unrelated animals would look like. The series does it for you perfectly. Created by Essex-based digital taxidermist and illustrator QuebecTango, the hybrid animals photography series is part of an ongoing project he works on for his Tumblr blog of [digitally altered animal hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crazyface). The mashups are sometimes cute -- like the squirrel and kitten hybrid -- and sometimes a little scary -- for example, the psycho frigs, horsquirrels, eagluanas and chinchillapotamuses will haunt you. The weird and sometimes adorable-looking species will make you fear our science-happy future and what could happen if humans decide to play with nature. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hybrid Animals:** The trend of creating hybrid animals through digital manipulation presents opportunities for innovative exploration in genetic experimentation and bioengineering. - **Digital Taxidermy:** The emerging trend of digitally altering animal images opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the fields of visual arts, advertising, and entertainment. - **Imagined Futures:** The trend of envisioning alternative and surreal animal species sparks opportunities for creative storytelling in literature, animation, and gaming. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Genetic Engineering:** The genetic engineering industry can leverage the trend of hybrid animals to explore new possibilities in creating genetically modified organisms and animals with specific traits. - **Visual Arts:** The visual arts industry can embrace the trend of digital taxidermy to create unique and imaginative artworks using digitally altered animal images. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can incorporate the trend of imagined animal hybrids to develop captivating and fantastical creatures in movies, TV shows, and video games. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Generated Animal Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-generator.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Futuristic Museum Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Immersive Holographic Zoos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hologram-zoo.md) - [Anime Horror-Style Reimaginations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito-artwork.md) - [Hybrid Meat Vegetable Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leyu-li.md) - [AI Pet Photo Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pawfoto.md)
