Kingsnorth takes [reclaimed chair frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair) and re-upholsters the pieces with bulging bits of fabric in an interestingly unique way. The upholstery on the pieces in the Hybreed by Charlotte Kingsnorth collection are meant to represent the rolls of flesh of an obese sitter. This interestingly hilarious concept is definitely worth checking out in the featured gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Obese Seating:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create unconventional and oversized seating options for a unique and humorous aesthetic. - **Reclaimed Furniture:** Potential for upcycling old chair frames and giving them a new life through innovative upholstering techniques that showcase creativity and sustainability. - **Unique Upholstery:** Innovation in using unconventional materials and techniques to create seating designs that challenge traditional norms and spark conversation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** A chance for furniture designers to explore unconventional shapes, materials, and techniques to create visually striking and thought-provoking seating pieces. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate bold and eccentric seating options into their projects to add a touch of whimsy and personality. - **Art and Sculpture:** Space for artists and sculptors to experiment with transforming ordinary chair frames into unique art installations that challenge perceptions of functionality and form. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Simplistic Seating Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hipstool.md) - [Waste-Incorporated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-chairs.md) - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-dixon-fat-and-plump.md) - [Vibrant '90s-Inspired Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holloway-li.md) - [Voluptuous Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voluptuous-seating.md) - [Unexpected Boundary-Pushing Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atypical-chair.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Deco-Inspired Chunky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-curve-big-chair.md) - [Historic Dynamic Cane Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charu-chair.md)
