Inspired by a [room-in-room concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabin), 'The Hut' is a bright piece of furniture that creates a small and cozy additional area for either individual work or collaborative meetings. The piece can also act as a place to unwind and relax in during busy days. Made in collaboration with Swedish-based company Gotessons and Finnish architecture firm Workspace, the initial design concept was inspired by the game pieces from iconic board game, Monopoly. Made from a wooden frame, the furniture is then covered in a colorful fire-proof textile and is also insulated to help [improve the overall acoustics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canopy-desk) inside the hut. These hut-shaped structures help create miniature spaces within a space and in doing so allow work and play to naturally form from within. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Room-in-room Furniture:** Creating private spaces within a larger one is a key concept with disrupt the traditional office environment. - **Collaborative Furniture:** Designing furniture that can facilitate both group and individual work will revolutionize office spaces. - **Comfort-based Furniture:** Focusing on creating comfortable furniture that also improves the overall acoustics of a workspace will be an important trend in the office furniture industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Office Furniture:** The office furniture industry can benefit from disruptive trends that cater to versatile workspace needs and comfort. - **Interior Design:** As office spaces evolve, interior designers and architects can take advantage of innovative furniture concepts to enhance the workplace environment. - **Architecture:** Architects can embrace and develop innovative furniture concepts that offer functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions to workspace design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Office Privacy Booths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plenum-cabin-by-jaime-hayon-for-fritz-hansen.md) - [Mountainous Modular Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summit-furniture.md) - [People-Pleasing Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubicle-system.md) - [Quirky Solo Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-capsules.md) - [Soft-Sided Cocoon Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddyhub-desk.md) - [Modular Post-Pandemic Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futo-collection-furniture.md) - [Bench Wall Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubicle.md) - [Modular Office Meeting Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toko-meeting-pod.md) - [Dynamic Modular Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunon-furniture-mixcube.md)
