Granted, some of these are a bit twisted (I mean, who wants to think of [cockroaches roaming](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring) throughout their heart?), but their brilliant and crisp design takes you beyond the gross-out factor. By focusing on the design, you can then appreciate the [surreal nature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection) of these pieces. **Implications** - This piece of art takes two familiar elements and fuses them together to create something unique. Companies should consider how many possibilities there are for certain products by combining elements that already exist. Businesses do not necessarily have to come up with brand new products, but can take pre-existing material and make something profitable out of this creation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Dark Art:** Create art that combines familiar elements to create unique and intriguing pieces. - **Surreal Design:** Explore the use of brilliant and crisp design to transform disturbing elements into visually captivating works. - **Fusion of Concepts:** Consider the possibilities of combining familiar elements to create new and profitable products. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Incorporate dark and surreal elements into artistic creations to appeal to a unique audience. - **Consumer Products:** Utilize familiar elements from different product categories to create innovative and profitable offerings. - **Marketing and Advertising:** Leverage the power of unexpected and visually captivating design to create memorable and attention-grabbing campaigns. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Witty Toy-Brand Horror Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horror-poster.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Flesh Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito.md) - [Educational Anatomy Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-heart-with-hidden-cells.md) - [Modern Design-Exploring Art Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pratone-chair.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Futuristic Museum Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore.md) - [Creature-Inspired Home Good Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charles-jeffreys-loverboy.md) - [Curved Line-Formed Functional Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heart-chair.md)
