Anne Mondro is a detailed sculptor that recreates realistic renditions of the human heart using 3D-modelling and [knitted wires](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-knitting-machine1). The wires are interwoven extremely tight to replicate the heart to a realistic degree that is then placed on display in the Stamps School of Art and Design at the [University of Michigan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-preparation-toy) as a commentary on the healthcare system.

The project looks at the relationship and intimacy that is formed between a patient and their caregiver and the knitted aesthetic of the wires used to construct the hearts highlight this closeness. The organs are developed using 3D-modelling to construct a realistic anatomical piece that is then put together using connected wires that are stitched together by hand.
