I like the balance that is struck between functionality and quirkiness in the Hugo Chair. Although it sports a rather [minimalist design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitter-chair), this [one-armed, dual-tone chair's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experiment-chair) design definitely gives it some great depth and character.

Designed by Kate Pashinova, a young Russian designer and former student of [British Higher School of Art and Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/norwich-castle-restoration) in Moscow, the Hugo Chair boasts a traditional Scandinavian style with a contemporary twist. This twist lies in its asymmetrical aesthetic that starts with the one arm and ends with an irregular leg that is set on a diagonal angle. The painted parts also have a slanted bias that really makes the Hugo Chair seem off-balance. Of course, it is plenty sturdy as well as comfy. The arm is even great for hanging bags.
