The device works by being positioned onto the side rear of the laptop and will go to work providing power to the system, while also splicing the two USB-C ports into an array of connectivity options. This includes an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports and more. The 'HUB–OX' USB-C hub works by being split into two units that will connect onto either side of the laptop and thus elevate the system by a small port. This will help to [keep the laptop cooler](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharge-disk-pro), while potentially also putting it at a more ergonomic position. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Elevated Laptop Connectivity:** Opportunity to design more ergonomic and efficient USB-C hubs that offer a variety of connectivity options while providing better airflow and cooling to laptops. - **Modular Laptop Hubs:** Opportunity to create modular USB-C hubs that can be easily attached and detached, offering users the ability to customize their hub based on their specific needs. - **Streamlined Laptop Connectivity:** Opportunity to design lightweight and portable USB-C hubs that offer a wide range of connectivity options for travelers and remote workers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** With the rising demand for more connectivity options and better laptop ergonomics, there is an opportunity for consumer electronics companies to create and market innovative USB-C hubs. - **Tech Accessories:** As laptops become increasingly powerful and versatile, there is an opportunity for tech accessories companies to design and manufacture accessories, such as USB-C hubs, that enhance the user experience. - **Office Furniture:** There is an opportunity for office furniture companies to incorporate USB-C hubs, such as the 'HUB-OX', into their designs, providing users with an all-in-one, ergonomic workspace solution. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connectivity Hub Laptop Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperdrive-hub-stand.md) - [Laptop-Attached Hub Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/case-x.md) - [Slim Laptop Connectivity Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiktaalik-hubstand.md) - [Pocket-Sized Connectivity Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperdrive-usb4-mobile-dock.md) - [Flexible Connectivity Workstation Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-hub.md) - [Remote Professional USB Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omnicase-2.md) - [Transparent Multi-Connectivity Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/docknova-usbc-hub.md) - [Transparent Technology Adapter Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dockcase-smart-usbc-hub.md) - [Detachable Hub Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-hub-stand-pro.md)
