# Impressive Smartphone Cameras The Huawei P20 Camera is the Best Camera on the Mobile Market By Justin Lam | Published 2018-04-03 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-p20-camera References: [luxurylaunches](http://luxurylaunches.com/gadgets/huaweis-new-p20-pro-beats-galaxy-s9-plus-to-become-the-best-smartphone-camera.php) & [scmp](http://www.scmp.com/tech/china-tech/article/2139143/huawei-targets-high-end-flagship-p20-pro-smartphone-featuring-leica) Chinese smartphone manufacturer [Huawei](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-pura-70-ultra) recently released its newest flagship device and while it is a capable contender in performance the Huawei P20 camera may be the best camera in the mobile market. The camera performance has already decimated the likes of [iPhone X](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-x-galaxy), Galaxy S9 Plus and Pixel 2 in their [DxOMark](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-shark-5-pro) rating with a score of 109. This achievement was made possible by the triple sensor lens setup on the back that was developed by Leica. The Leica triples setup on the Huawei P20 camera is the first of its kind and gives the phone the highest total pixel count of any smartphone on the market today. The triple set up features two cameras bunched together -- a 40MP large 1/1.7″ color sensor with f/1.8 lens and an 8MP color one with f/2.4 telephoto lens -- the final lens is a 20MP monochrome sensor behind f/1.6 lens. The data from each lens and sensor is then fused using something called 'Light Fusion' to create a super crisp, high-quality 10-megapixel photo. The camera setup also allows for 4D predictive focus, 5-second exposure mode, a impressive autofocus feature and a massive ISO of 102,400. The Huawei P20 camera is also capable of 720p@960fps slow motion capturing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Triple Sensor Lens Setup:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing smartphones with triple sensor lens setups to enhance camera performance and image quality. - **Light Fusion Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implementing 'Light Fusion' technology to fuse data from multiple lenses and sensors for producing high-quality photos. - **High-resolution Monochrome Sensor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating high-resolution monochrome sensors into smartphone cameras to improve image sharpness and clarity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Smartphone Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing cutting-edge camera technology to compete in the highly competitive smartphone manufacturing industry. - **Photography Equipment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating new photography equipment that leverages triple sensor lens setups and advanced image fusion technologies. - **Image Processing Software:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing image processing software that can effectively handle and optimize the data from multiple lenses and sensors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retractable Camera Lens Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-pura-70-ultra.md) - [Camera-Centric Chinese Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cameracentric-chinese-smartphones.md) - [High-Grade Camera System Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-p60-pro.md) - [Triple Camera-Packing Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triplecamera-flagship-smartphone.md) - [Manual Zoom Photography Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-17-ultra-leica-edition.md) - [Premium Camera-Equipped Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-12s-series.md) - [Powerful Camera-Equipped Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-4-ultimate.md) - [Feature-Rich Jewel-Like Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honor-90.md) - [Four-Camera Integrated Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/13-ultra.md)
