# See-Through Refueling Stations HRS BY STARCK Maintains a Clean Aesthetic to Mirror Hydrogen By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2023-12-22 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hrs-by-starck References: [design-milk](https://design-milk.com/philippe-starcks-hydrogen-refueling-stations-reveal-boxes-of-nothingness/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=philippe-starcks-hydrogen-refueling-stations-reveal-boxes-of-nothingness) & [hydrogen-refueling-solutions.fr](https://www.hydrogen-refueling-solutions.fr/) HRS BY STARCK is an ultra-modern refueling station designed with the very essence of hydrogen in mind to put a transparent aesthetic in the spotlight. Designed by French designer Philippe Starck for [Hydrogen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alpenglow-hypercar) Refueling [Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-solutions-for-ai-data-center), the station has a mirrored finish on the main body alongside a [see-through section](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dab-1-transparent-edition) where drivers can see the internal workings. This puts nothing in the spotlight to convey the clean nature of hydrogen and takes an ultra-artistic approach to the process of refueling a vehicle. Starck himself commented on the HRS BY STARCK saying, "Hydrogen is clean; it is nothingness, an ether. It is obvious that the HRS BY STARCK hydrogen refueling stations had to be dematerialized. No style or design, for an object that has already disappeared like everything intelligent that exists.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 19% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Hydrogen Refueling Stations:** An innovative trend in the automotive industry is the use of see-through sections in refueling stations to showcase the clean nature of hydrogen. - **Ultra-modern Design in Refueling Stations:** There is a growing trend in the industry for refueling stations to adopt an ultra-modern and artistic approach to convey the process of refueling a vehicle. - **Dematerialized Hydrogen Refueling Stations:** A disruptive trend in the renewable energy sector is the development of hydrogen refueling stations with a mirrored finish and no visible design, reflecting the ethereal quality of hydrogen. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Automotive:** Transparent refueling stations are creating opportunities for automakers to showcase the clean nature of hydrogen fuel in a visually appealing way. - **Design:** The ultra-modern design of refueling stations presents opportunities for designers to create visually stunning and artistic structures. - **Renewable Energy:** The dematerialized design of hydrogen refueling stations reflects a disruptive innovation in the renewable energy industry, offering a unique approach to fueling vehicles. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Hydrogen Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyper-fuel.md) - [Marina Hydrogen Refuelling Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/refuelling-station.md) - [Vehicle-Matching Charger Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clair-electric-vehicle-charger.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Supercar Teasers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alpine-a4810.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Concept Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydra-bike.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Race Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-gr-h2-racing-concept.md) - [Scalable EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epit-ultra-fast-charging-station.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydrogenpowered-vending-machine.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Hypercar Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alpenglow-hypercar.md)
