HR software company [Gusto](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-kind-of-guise-3) receives an incredibly contemporary space that will house its operations which include a human resource platform, cloud-based payroll and benefits management. The business, which has seen rapid growth, will enjoy an office ambiance that embraces open concept and industrial sensibilities. Located on San Francisco’s eastern waterfront, the HR software company will take Pier 70 — a building that once served as “a machine shop for military destroyers and submarines.”

Gusto commissioned Berkeley-based Marcy Wong Donn Logan Architects for the project. The design firm attempted to create a modern working space that paid homage to the historic values and quirks of Pier 70. With its juxtaposition of [industrial elements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nderkleiva) and integration of contemporary, collaboration-focused furniture, Gusto’s company headquarters will surely make for an office that one want to come back to.
