New York architect Sharon Davis has designed and created a [sustainable housing complex](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rewild-homes) for the doctors and nurses of Rwanda. This project is the result of Davis collaborating with ‘Partners in Health.’

The materials used for this housing complex are eco-friendly supplies that came from the local region. The complex is largely made from the use of [eucalyptus trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/common-woods). These trees not only enclose some of the porches and act as walls, they also provide closure to many doorways. The roofing is made using cross-ventilation in order to maintain a cool interior. There is a bricking portion of the complex that creates two houses holding eight people in each building.

The [community-focused complex](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-comunidad-habitacional) was built directly next to the local hospital, which allows the hospital staff to remain close to work.
