# Life On A Stick Space-Saving Polish Homes By Kyla Schmidt | Published 2007-08-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-on-a-stick-space-saving-dwelling References: [bldgblog.blogspot](http://bldgblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/single-hauz.html) It's like... a billboard that you can live in! A new [housing concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-getaway) called Single Hauz by an architectural firm in Poland proposes cantilevering [domestic living space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minuet) from a central mast. Basically the design makes it easy to [balance on top of a pole](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lift-house), which can be driven into a lake, sea, or the side of a mountain. Basically anywhere you have space you can put one of these houses. Genius! I'd put one right in the middle of a freeway, but that's just me. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cantilevered Homes:** The Single Hauz housing concept proposes a unique way of living space beyond the ground level, creating innovative possibilities for urban or rural living. - **Portable Homes:** This design allows for buildings to be transported to various locations, providing a creative solution for temporary or permanent housing needs. - **Space-saving Housing:** By building vertically, Single Hauz offers a way to save space while still creating functional living areas. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Real Estate:** This design provides new options for real estate developers to build and sell unconventional homes. - **Construction:** The unique design of Single Hauz will require innovation in construction techniques and materials. - **Architectural Design:** This design can be used as inspiration for architectural firms to create similar innovative housing concepts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Compact Sustainable Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cabana.md) - [Reinvented Compact Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype.md) - [Modular Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piil.md) - [Discreet Architectural Polish Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-house.md) - [Economical Modular Wooden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cake-house.md) - [Box-Like Innovative Apartment Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-apartment-design.md) - [Climate-Responsive Prefab Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod.md) - [Inversion Living Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-getaway.md) - [Space-Conscious Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midgard-tiny-home.md)
