But DUS Architects have gone the other way with '[House of Canvas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canvas-house),' a recently renovated house in east Amsterdam that pays homage to the [avant-garde artist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alan-prekop-studio) Karel Appel. 'House of Canvas' incorporates bold colors and efficient uses of space in a fascinating way to create six ingenious studios that are small, but beautiful and uncluttered. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Bold Colors:** The use of bold colors in small-space living can create visually striking and unique interiors. - **Efficient Space Utilization:** Discovering new ways to optimize space in small living areas can revolutionize the way we design and live in urban environments. - **Minimalist Design:** Minimalist design principles can be reimagined and adapted to small-space living, creating a balanced and harmonious atmosphere. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Innovations in interior design can cater to the growing demand for efficient and aesthetically pleasing small-space living solutions. - **Architecture:** Architects have the opportunity to rethink traditional space utilization and push the boundaries of design in compact living spaces. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** The furniture and home decor industry can develop space-saving and multi-functional products to enhance small-space living experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nostalgic 70s-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-special-studio.md) - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Square Structural Canadian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canvas-house.md) - [Colorfully Transformed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slatuinenweg.md) - [Cleverly Designed Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Prefabricated Miniature Home Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cpsula.md) - [Hotel-Inspired Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amsterdam-zuid.md) - [Reimagined Minimal Parisian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon.md)
