Originally built in 1938, the Noordwijk [seaside villa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eva-gonzlez-estudio) became quite rundown from brutal storms and the natural decay that comes from being by the sea. The House N by Maxwan is now a [completely renovated dwelling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-by-the-river) with all the amenities of a modern home with the irresistible charm of a historic structure. The kitchen that features windows for walls and the cozy spaces found through the House N by Maxwan make it a seaside hideaway that will have design enthusiasts giddy with delight. Although compeltely modernized, the House N by Maxwan keeps the original house intact, which was a requirement of the homeowners when renovating. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Renovated Classic Homes:** There is an opportunity to modernize classic homes with contemporary design, while still maintaining the historic charm. - **Cozy Seaside Retreats:** Cozy and charming retreats by the sea are in demand, and can be created through thoughtful interior design and architecture. - **Creative Window Design:** Innovative window designs, such as walls of windows, can create a visually stunning and immersive living space. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architects have an opportunity to provide modern design solutions for historic homes that retain their original charm. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can create cozy and charming seaside retreats through thoughtful design. - **Window Manufacturing:** Window manufacturers can create innovative and visually stunning window designs for modern homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Coastal Mid-Century Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-anglesea.md) - [Modern Danish Restoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vejrhj-house.md) - [Seaside Home Renovation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia.md) - [Multigenreational Seaside Renovation Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barliswedlick.md) - [Modernist Modern Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/general-assembly-1.md) - [Modernized 1960s Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/castelli-romani.md) - [Plant-Filled Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-c.md) - [Stunning Mid-Century Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-theory.md) - [Sea-Inspired Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-ona.md)
