When viewed from one side, the single window is remarkably simple -- a little bit of country in the city. Inside the house in Saitama is an oasis of modernity. The clean white walls and dark wood finish allow for a sleek interior. The windows are small and seemingly placed at random so that natural light comes in through unexpected ways. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Rustic Modern Homes:** Designing homes with a rustic outer appearance, but with a modern, sleek interior. - **Unconventional Window Placement:** Incorporating asymmetrical or unique window placement within modern home design. - **Minimalistic Interior Design:** Creating a clean, neutral, yet sophisticated interior for modern homes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Real Estate:** Creating a new market for homeowners who desire an innovative, yet simple twist on modern home design. - **Home Renovation:** Providing inspiration for homeowners to create a unique and modern interior, while maintaining a rustic aesthetic. - **Architecture:** Challenging architects to create unconventional home designs that are both rustic and modern. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-saidera.md) - [Minimal Japanese Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-kyobate.md) - [Modern Multi-Purpose Japanese Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muiltipurpose-japanese-building.md) - [Japanese Minimalism Portland Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mori-house.md) - [Peaceful Wooden-Designed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-residence.md) - [Cave-Like Exposed Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nakano-house.md) - [Minimalist Concrete Complexes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-project-in-tokyo.md) - [Barn-Inspired Timber Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-w-1.md) - [Simple Material Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openfield-house.md)
