# Sleek Spanish Abodes DHAL & GHG Architects Designed a Spectacular House in la Moraleja By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-07-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-la-moraleja References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/07/14/house-in-la-moraleja-by-dhal-ghg-architects/) & [dahl-ghg](http://www.dahl-ghg.com/) DHAL & GHG Architects designed a family house in La Moraleja, Spain. The exterior is characterized by clean lines, a cubic arrangement and a refreshing white color palette. The backyard is free of any elaborate patio set-up. Instead, it features a large, rectangular pool in the center of the site. The outdoor lounging and dining areas are shaded under a flat white roof connecting to the home's interior. Everything is incredibly sleek and sophisticated, ensuring the home owner's complete comfort and relaxation. The architects were especially careful to make sure everything in the home was cohesive, understated and tasteful. It's easy for architecture to become convoluted and overwhelming; DHAL & GHG avoided this trap by erring on the side of minimalism. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Architecture:** Architecture firms can explore minimalist designs to create sleek and sophisticated homes. - **Simplicity in Outdoor Design:** Designers can create unique outdoor spaces with simple designs, using elements like large pools as the focal point. - **Monochromatic Color Palettes:** Designers can experiment with monochromatic color schemes, like the refreshing white palette used in the La Moraleja home. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architecture firms can innovate by experimenting with minimalist and cohesive designs in homes. - **Outdoor Furniture:** Outdoor furniture companies can create minimalist and sleek designs to complement modern homes with simple outdoor spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can find inspiration in monochromatic color palettes and create cohesive interiors to complement minimalistic architecture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reflective Artful Calming Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-gesso.md) - [Floating Level Aesthetic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Minimal White Brick Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-house.md) - [Robust Monolithic Walled Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-1736.md) - [Colorfully Bright Hillside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canary-house.md) - [Panoramic Terraced Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-95.md) - [Warm Tonal Textural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolvar-house.md) - [Refined Modern Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house.md)
