# Majestic Modern Homes House in La Encantada Plays with Light and Form for a Contemporary Feel By Christopher DeLuca | Published 2011-05-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-la-encantada References: [archdaily](http://www.archdaily.com/136904/house-in-la-encantada-javier-artadi/) & [javierartadi](http://www.javierartadi.com/) The House in La Encantada designed by Javier Artadi is a stunning example of how architects can [play with light and form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-emma) to create a gorgeous contemporary home. The House in La Encantada, located in a suburb of the [capital of Peru](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lima-house), is a simple design constructed on two floors. The most captivating element of the home is the open entranceway; from the exterior you can see all the way up the staircase to the second floor. The House in La Encantada is consistent with its clean contemporary feel: all of the walls are painted white and there is a lot glass used. I really like the home because it feels like a little [calm oasis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-house) away from the hustle and bustle of city life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Contemporary Architecture:** The trend towards contemporary architecture is creating opportunities for architects to play with light and form to create stunning homes and buildings. - **Minimalism:** The trend towards minimalism in architecture is creating opportunities for architects to create clean, simple designs that feel like calm oases away from the hustle and bustle of city life. - **Open Spaces:** The trend towards open spaces in architecture is creating opportunities for architects to create homes and buildings that feel airy and spacious. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can capitalize on the trend towards contemporary architecture, minimalism, and open spaces to create innovative designs for homes and buildings. - **Real Estate:** The real estate industry can capitalize on the trend towards contemporary architecture, minimalism, and open spaces to promote properties with unique and innovative designs. - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can capitalize on the trend towards contemporary architecture, minimalism, and open spaces to create furniture that complements the clean, simple designs of modern homes and buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Highland Residential Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-andes.md) - [Sculptural Canteliver Concrete Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-del-alma.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Light-CelebratingTwo-Storey Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-rboles.md) - [Chilean Hillside Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-three-heights.md) - [Colorfully Bright Hillside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canary-house.md) - [Pavilion-Style Art Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galeria-house.md) - [Climate-Generating Skylight Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-con-lucarna.md) - [Interior Courtyard Mexican Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-ll.md)
