# Minimalist Wood-Accented Residences The House F by Ido Kenji Serenely Embraces Contemporary Design By Meghan Young | Published 2013-04-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-f References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/house-f-by-ido-kenji-architectural-studio) & [kenjiido](http://kenjiido.com/) [House F](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-hkarn) is a [minimalist residence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-house-1) that is full of white and wood details. A combination that is at once serene and invigorating, the design is made for people who are drawn to contemporary aesthetics without losing their touch with the natural environment. The exterior of House F is a prelude to what can be found indoors. A squarish facade, a [wooden screen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-aoyama) has been erected above the car park to provide privacy for the inner terrace. Beyond, the house itself is like a clean white canvas. Throughout House F, the design is just as sparse, but certainly not cold. Instead, House F is a welcoming abode that is warm, comforting and safe. Located in Osaka, Japan, House F was designed by Ido, Kenji Architectural Studio. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wood-accented Minimalist Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to incorporate more natural elements into contemporary design styles. - **Serene and Warm Minimalism:** Opportunity for interior designers to create minimalist spaces that are inviting and comforting. - **Privacy-enhancing Screen Design:** Opportunity for architects and product designers to create innovative and stylish privacy screens for residential and commercial spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to incorporate more natural elements into contemporary design styles and create minimalist, welcoming spaces. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to create minimalist spaces that are inviting and comforting while incorporating wood accents. - **Product Design:** Opportunity for designers to create innovative and stylish privacy screens for residential and commercial spaces, inspired by the wooden screen used in House F. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimal Japanese Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-kyobate.md) - [Peaceful Wooden-Designed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-residence.md) - [Contemporary Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-saidera.md) - [Intersecting Block-Formed Narrow Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-fujidera.md) - [Serene Timeless Minimal Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-hkarn.md) - [Compact Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akio-isshiki-architects.md) - [Traditional Japan-Honoring Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c4l-house.md) - [Minimal Philosophy Toronto Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-hill-residence.md) - [Modern Kyoto House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/element-house.md)
