This [serene vacation spot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muskoka-lakeside-cottage) is located in Belgium, and features numerous glass windows to avoid separating inhabitants from the outside world. Achieving the "one with nature" goal without having to actually brace for any of the elements is perfectly obtainable here. [Glass surrounds almost the entire house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-ridge) from the ground level up, with privacy provided in areas where it's necessary. People can then look out on the lake from the warmth of the interior, or even beat the heat by enjoying the view without stepping outside, depending on the weather and time of year. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Glass Architecture:** The trend of using glass in architectural design allows for a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. - **Nature-inspired Living:** The trend of creating living spaces that prioritize a connection with nature opens up opportunities for innovative designs that blend seamlessly with natural surroundings. - **Environmentally-friendly Construction:** The trend towards eco-conscious building materials and practices presents opportunities for developing transparent structures that are energy-efficient and sustainable. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can explore innovative uses of glass to create visually stunning structures that enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can benefit from offering transparent lakeside accommodations that provide guests with a unique, immersive experience of being surrounded by nature. - **Construction:** The construction industry can embrace environmentally-friendly practices by incorporating transparent materials into building designs, creating energy-efficient and sustainable structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Thoughtful Lakeside Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakeside-living.md) - [Nature-Connecting Vacation Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-lake.md) - [Discrete Lakeside Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palissade.md) - [Pavilion-Style Lakeside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearwater-lake-retreat.md) - [Glass‑brick Belgian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-brick-house.md) - [Organic Lake Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usonianinspired-lake-house.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Serene Waterfront Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lake-house-life-experience-pavilion.md) - [Repurposed Wooden Shoreside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-house-by-the-lake.md)
