# Digital Display Keyboards The Hotkey Keyboard Displays the Shortcuts for Different Programs By Eric Westcott | Published 2014-04-03 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotkey-keyboard References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/04/01/hot-key-board/) This hotkey keyboard will save time for people that work with different types of designing software. Being able to remember the quick shortcuts that can be used on your keyboard saves you time when you working on new designs. With this keyboard being a [completely digital keyboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ds-pixel-keyboard), it will display all of the hotkeys directly onto the keyboard for the program that you are currently using. When you exit one program and open up another, the keyboard will change the hotkeys that are being displayed. This will eliminate the need for memorizing different hotkeys when working with multiple programs at one time. When working with a [Mac](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xencelabs-quick-keys-remote) computer, many design programs have a specific color designated to its program. When you open up a new program, not only do the hotkeys change, but the display color of the keys changes to correspond with the program that you are using. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hotkey Keyboard:** Opportunity for disruption in the keyboard industry by introducing hotkey keyboards with dynamic digital displays that save time during design work. - **Digital Display Technology:** Opportunity for disruption in the peripheral device industry by introducing digital displays on keyboards, mice, and other devices that cater to specific software programs. - **Productivity Tools:** Opportunity for disruption in the software industry by creating productivity tools that help users learn and remember shortcuts for different programs and improve workflow efficiency. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Keyboard Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can disrupt their industry by offering digital display hotkey keyboards that cater to specific software programs and improve the user experience of designers and other professionals. - **Peripheral Devices:** Companies can disrupt the peripheral device industry by offering digital displays on keyboards, mice, and other devices that dynamically change based on the software program being used. - **Software Development:** Developers can disrupt the software industry by creating productivity tools that help users learn and remember shortcuts for different programs, improving workflow efficiency and reducing the need for memorization. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Single-Handed Shortcut Keypads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xencelabs-quick-keys-remote.md) - [Digital Design Shortcut Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shortcut-keyboard.md) - [Multi-Functional Display Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountain.md) - [Multifunctional Hidden Display Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scroom-keyboard.md) - [Productive Screen-Equipped Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-keyboard.md) - [Productive Keyboard Shortcuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotkey-cheatsheet.md) - [Multifunctional OLED Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monogram-os6.md) - [LED Screen Display Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rog-strix-flare-ii.md) - [Mini-Display Retro Mechanical Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rt100.md)
