Dubbed the Horizon Smart Glasses, this high-tech piece of eyewear is designed to act as a consolidated platform to help people with different degrees of vision impairment to navigate their world. The glasses are equipped with a wide-angle camera, and are used in conjunction with a controller device that monitors battery and network parameters. Whereas Aira's previous platform required a number of third-party services to work properly, the Horizon Smart Glasses are designed to be far more streamlined to operate, giving people with vision impairments maximum assistance with minimal hassle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Streamlined Vision-assisting Platform:** The evolution of smart glasses and the integration of a consolidated platform offer a streamlined and efficient solution for people with vision impairments. - **Enhanced Camera Technology:** The use of wide-angle cameras in smart glasses provides a more comprehensive view for individuals with visual impairments, enhancing their ability to navigate their surroundings. - **Optimized User Experience:** By minimizing the need for third-party services and introducing a controller device, smart glasses offer a more convenient and user-friendly experience for people with visual impairments. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Assistive Technology:** The Horizon Smart Glasses represent the continued innovation and advancement in assistive technology, enhancing the quality of life for those with visual impairments. - **Healthcare:** The use of smart glasses in the healthcare industry opens up new possibilities in providing comprehensive support and care for individuals with visual impairments. - **Consumer Electronics:** The integration of advanced camera technology and a streamlined platform in smart glasses demonstrates the potential for disrupting the consumer electronics industry, specifically in the field of wearable devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Object-Recognizing AI Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-wearable.md) - [Wearable Assistive Smart Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighthouse-tech.md) - [Wearable Assistive Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xanderglasses-connect.md) - [Real-Time Performance-Tracking Eyewear Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-eyewear1.md) - [Advanced AI Assistance Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looktech-ai-glasses.md) - [Proactive AI Glasses Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halliday.md) - [Vision-Activated Smart Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pangolin-gen3.md) - [Dual-Camera AR Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superhexa-vision.md) - [Versatile AI-Powered Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-glasses.md)
