It is defined by its [3D-printed design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bodxl) which replaces the usual construction of layered concrete. It is made using locally sourced soil for an ultimately sustainable solution. The Hope village is a part of an expansive plan that the team aims to offer resources such as childcare, school, housing, and care to train youth. Mark Loughnan, Principal, and Head of Design at Hassell shares “The Hope Village community hall design seeks to create a beautiful, functional, safe, and uplifting environment that provides both hope and education for vulnerable girls. The hall is a welcoming space that creates an innovative central activity hub connecting with its surrounding environment. The design and building process for the hall aims to engage the community and provide ongoing opportunities for local participation and education throughout construction.” Image Credit: Hassell, One Heart ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 27% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **3d-printed Architecture:** Utilizing 3D printing technology for constructing community centers showcases a futuristic approach to building design, significantly reducing traditional material waste. - **Sustainable Construction:** The use of locally sourced soil for the construction of Hope Village highlights a move toward eco-friendly building materials that promote sustainability and reduce carbon footprints. - **Community-centric Design:** Designs that focus on creating multifunctional spaces like the Hope Village emphasize the importance of fostering community engagement and providing holistic social services. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction:** The construction industry can explore the potential of 3D printing to streamline building processes and enhance sustainability in architecture. - **Non-profit Organizations:** Non-profits can look into innovative building solutions such as 3D printing to better support underserved communities with cost-effective infrastructure. - **Eco-friendly Materials:** The development and use of environmentally friendly materials like locally sourced soil are becoming crucial in driving the trend toward green construction practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [3D-Printed Public Pavilion Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hassell.md) - [Earth Brick Arts Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bidi-bidi-performing-arts-center.md) - [3D-Printed Cacao Waste Villages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cacao-eco-village.md) - [Terracotta Concrete Community Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iztapalapa-pilares-community-center.md) - [Multi-Storey 3D-Printed Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qr3d.md) - [3D-Printed Neighborhood Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolf-ranch.md) - [Fully Recyclable 3D-Printed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biohome3d.md) - [Connecting Community Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utt-empower-soweto.md) - [Arched Concrete Community Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centro-de-colaboracin-arquitectnica.md)
