# Trampoline-Like Salvers The Hook n' Loop Stretchy Bowl Expands to Hold an Increasing Harvest By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-07-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hook-n-loop-stretchy-bowl References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/48913/) & [hooknloopdesign](http://www.hooknloopdesign.com/category/stretchy-bowl) A collection of dishes of different sizes can suffice to hold [a wide variety of items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tronco) and a range of quantities. But one has to appreciate the adaptability and the material sincerity of the lovely Hook n' Loop Stretchy Bowl. Two pieces of white metal slot together to make a sturdy base for the vessel while an [elastic plate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldy) is placed on top. Without a load, the tray takes a taut flat form within its [circular frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-side-table). A single apple placed on top will cause a subtle dip in the flexible fabric -- an alteration that will increase in depth and number of contoured points of contact with the stacking of each additional edible. The whimsical Hook n' Loop Stretchy Bowl fruit bowl comes in three vibrant colors to round off an appearance as lively as its tree-grown treats inside. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Adaptive Tableware:** Opportunity to create tableware that can adapt and expand to hold various items and quantities. - **Elastic Material Innovation:** Opportunity to develop new elastic materials that can flex and stretch to accommodate different objects. - **Stackable Kitchenware:** Opportunity to design kitchenware that can be easily stacked to save space and accommodate more items. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Housewares:** The housewares industry can incorporate adaptive tableware and stackable kitchenware into their product offerings. - **Materials Science:** The materials science industry can explore new elastic materials that have various applications in different sectors. - **Food and Beverage:** The food and beverage industry can benefit from elastic material innovation to develop new storage and serving solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Malleable Construction Food Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delione-flexn-fresh-container.md) - [Reusable Folding Storage Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calzone-tableware.md) - [Stackable Rotating Snack Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tapas-snack-sphere.md) - [Compact Portable Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-rack-2.md) - [Stretchy Yogurt Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stretchy-yogurt.md) - [Expandable Construction Cutting Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexiboard.md) - [Reusable Malleable Food Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reusable-seal-tray.md) - [Dynamic Colored Glass Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-top-glass.md) - [Freshness-Preserving Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eternos-serving-bowl.md)
