This lean, mean lawnmowing machine marked the new record by setting an average speed of 187.60 km/h, comfortably breaking the previous record of 140 km/h. In order to claim the Guinness World Record for being the fastest lawnmower, lawnmowers must not only set the fastest average speed but also look like a lawnmower and be able to cut grass. The Honda Mean Mower satisfied all three requirements on its way to the [lawnmower speed record](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gac-group) books. The Mean Mower was based on a Honda HF260 Lawn Tractor. A new high carbon steel chassis was added to provide a strong but lightweight platform, and a 1,000 cc engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm motorbike was installed to feed the lawnmower’s need for speed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Speed Record-breaking Lawnmowers:** Opportunity for manufacturers to develop high-performance lawnmowers that break speed records while still maintaining functionality. - **High Carbon Steel Chassis:** Potential for steel manufacturers to develop and provide lightweight yet strong chassis for various applications, including lawnmowers. - **Motorbike Engine Integration:** Opportunity for motorbike manufacturers to collaborate with lawnmower manufacturers to develop faster and more powerful lawnmower engines. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lawnmower Manufacturing:** Lawnmower manufacturers can embrace the trend of speed record-breaking lawnmowers by introducing innovative designs and engineering technologies. - **Steel Manufacturing:** Steel manufacturers can capitalize on the trend of high carbon steel chassis by producing lightweight and durable chassis for various industries, including automotive and aerospace. - **Motorbike Manufacturing:** Motorbike manufacturers can explore new avenues by partnering with lawnmower manufacturers to integrate their engines into high-performance lawnmowers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Low-Noise Emissions-Free Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milwaukee-m18-fuel-electric-mower.md) - [High-Power Five-Blade Robot Mowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neomow-x-3d.md) - [Powerful Hovering Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hover-mower.md) - [High-Powered Commercial Mowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highpowered-commercial-mower.md) - [Low-Noise Robotic Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/husqvarna-automower-415x.md) - [GPS-Powered Robot Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/husqvarna-automower-520-epos.md) - [Ridable Battery-Powered Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/greenworks-pro-crossover-t.md) - [Zero-Turn Ride-On Electric Mowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-deere-z370r-electric-mower.md) - [Record-Setting E-Motorbikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rgnt-motorcycles.md)
