# Customizable Component Escritoires The Homework Desk Can Be Freely Assembled for Specific Needs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-02-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/homework-desk References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/homework-desk-can-be-customized-to-workspace-needs/) & [robingrasby](http://www.robingrasby.com/) A raised flat panel usually suffices as the criteria for a functional workstation, but the Homework Desk strives to be so much more than a simple writing surface. Designer Robin Grasby gave his piece of [office furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bisley-align) a collection of parts that cater to performing tasks of various sorts. Two wooden three-legged stands form the supportive stands of the desk, a [shallow wooden drawer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/track-concept) can be installed between them and fabric slings can be fixed to the ends. These features provide the storage. A long black tabletop creates a [generous work surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corsair-platform4-desk) and functions as a frame for the insertion of three different top boards. The Homework Desk can be outfitted with a whiteboard, a gridded cutting board and an inclining panel for use as a drafting table. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Customizable Office Furniture:** Opportunity for businesses to innovate by offering customizable office furniture that caters to specific needs and tasks. - **Multi-functional Workstations:** Opportunity for businesses to create workstations with multiple features and components that enhance productivity. - **Modular Desk Designs:** Opportunity for businesses to design desks with interchangeable parts for easy customization and flexibility. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture:** Office furniture industry could tap into the demand for customizable and multi-functional workstations. - **Design and Manufacturing:** Design and manufacturing industry can explore modular desk designs and innovative component solutions. - **Workspace Solutions:** Workspace solutions industry can integrate customizable desks to optimize productivity and tailor workspaces to specific needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Customizable Power Lift Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyrmwood-modular-desk.md) - [Modular Working Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-working-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md) - [Modular Play-Friendly Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-concept.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md)
