The security camera is characterized by its adjustable functionality that will allow the [camera lens to be hidden away](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-surveillance-camera) with a simple gesture to alleviate user concerns that they are being recorded at all times. This will allow users to toggle it on and off at their leisure to enjoy peace of mind that they aren't being recorded when they are home. The Home Security Camera concept is the design work of Adam Shen who spoke on the product further saying, "Most products on the market do not pay attention to the design of the camera itself, with hidden functions only slightly covering the lens. Users cannot know whether the camera is in use except the indicator light. By hiding the camera lens inside, the camera shows visual feedback when it is not in use to let the user quickly know whether the camera is monitoring.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Privacy-respecting Security Solutions:** There is an opportunity for designers to create more security solutions that respect personal privacy and give users more control over when they are being monitored. - **Intuitive Home Security:** There is a trend towards creating more user-friendly home security solutions that are intuitive and easy to use, like the adjustable functionality of Adam Shen's Home Security Camera concept. - **Discreet Monitoring:** There is a growing demand for discreet monitoring solutions that are not always visible or obvious to users, allowing them to go about their daily lives without feeling like they are constantly being watched. ### Who This Affects Most - **Smart Home Technology:** There are opportunities for smart home technology providers to create more privacy-respecting security solutions for homeowners. - **Home Security:** The home security industry could benefit from developing more intuitive and user-friendly security solutions that give homeowners more control and peace of mind. - **Technology Design:** There is a need for technology designers to pay more attention to the aesthetics and usability of security solutions, as well as the privacy concerns of users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Privacy-Focused Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visio-wifi-camera-concept.md) - [Decor-Inspired Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-home-camera.md) - [Novel Home Security Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-security-concept.md) - [Foldable Structural Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psync-genie-s.md) - [Camera-Equipped Door Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plus-link-z-concept.md) - [Dual-Direction Window Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/window-camera.md) - [Smarthome Camera Router Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geist.md) - [Sculptural Surveillance Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-surveillance.md) - [Accessible Smart Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abode-cam-2.md)
