Steven Kent Architects designed a family home in Santa Monica, California, titled the '24th Street Residence.'

Being a gallery owner and musician, the homeowners were very specific in their expectations from this home. The overall objective was to design a modern home with a minimalist design aesthetic, plenty of outdoor space, [room to display art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hills-residence), a recording studio and home theater, using green building techniques.

The house was constructed as a series of three volumes, each with unique texture and material palette, which overlap to form an exceptional exterior formation anchored by a concrete stair.
