The Casa has an unconventional polygonal shape, which takes advantage of the natural elements like wind and sunlight that the house is exposed to. The different floors of the building are made with various materials like [cork and terracotta](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-local-house), bringing a cozy warmth to the design. One of the most interesting aspects of the design is a grassy feature that blocks in the infinity pool on the upper level of the building, making it look as though the natural elements go hand-in-hand with the residence in Torres Vedras. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Polygonal Architecture:** Exploring unusual shapes and unconventional designs to create striking, unique buildings in harmony with nature. - **Green Elements Integration:** Incorporating elements of nature into building design for eco-friendliness, natural beauty and functional use. - **Sustainable Materials:** Using eco-conscious and sustainable materials for building construction to set new standards for green living. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture and Construction:** Pushing the boundaries of traditional building practices to create visually stunning yet practical structures. - **Real Estate:** Integrating green elements and sustainable materials to meet growing demand for eco-friendly living. - **Landscaping and Outdoor Design:** Exploring new ways to incorporate natural elements into outdoor living spaces for a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Park-Surrounded Interconnected Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/praia-grande.md) - [Sloped Site Concrete Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oeiras-house.md) - [Sandy Landscape-Reflective Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-da-encosta-n-grndola.md) - [Floral Wall-Defined Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-ptios-de-ptalas.md) - [Slopped-Base Green Tiled Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bak-gordon-arquitectos.md) - [Sculptural Inverted Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof.md) - [Dynamically Patterned Portuguese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/087-house.md) - [Curved Garden-Surrounding Linear Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-dos-terraos-circulares.md) - [Curved Surface Portuguese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-within-a-few-lines.md)
